Candle Care Tips
(A.K.A. Don’t Burn the House Down)
✨ Safety First
⚠️ "Never Leave Your Candle Unattended — She's Not Your Situationship"
A burning candle is a whole vibe, but she still needs supervision. Never leave her burning alone, and keep her away from anything flammable—because fire hazards are not cute.
🐶 "No Paws, No Tiny Hands, No Chaos"
Keep your candles far, far away from pets and kiddos. They’re curious, and candles aren’t snacks (no matter how good they smell).
🌙 Where to Store Your Candle – Give Her a Cozy Home
Your candle deserves better than a sun-soaked shelf. Keep her in a cool, dark place to prevent premature aging—because we’re all about longevity here. Heat and direct light? Major enemies. Drafts? Also a no-go. Treat her right, and she’ll stay fresh for up to 12-16 months.
🔥 First Burn = First Impressions (it matters!)
That first burn? Super important. Wait at least 48 hours after pouring before lighting her up. When you do, you gotta let her melt all the way to the edges (about 1-3 hours, depending on size). Blow her out too soon, and she’ll start tunneling — and trust us, you don’t want that. Don’t rush her, she is totally worth the wait!
⏳ Every Burn Should Be at Least 2 Hours
If you don’t give your candle enough time to fully melt and release her fragrance, you’re doing her dirty. Short burns = weak scent and ugly wax tunnels. Give her at least 2 hours to do her thing!
💨 Keep Her Away from Drafts & Drama
A flickering flame might look cute, but drafts make your candle burn unevenly. Wind and breezes? A total no-no. Find her a stable, cozy spot where she can shine undisturbed.
✂️ Trim That Wick
If your wick is too long or starts looking like a mushroom top, it’s time for a trim! A long wick with buildup can cause your candle to burn unevenly, leading to excess smoke, soot, and drips (ugh). Before each burn, trim it down to ¼ inch to keep things smooth, clean, and classy.
😮💨 Blow It Out? Nope. Snuff It Out!
Blowing out a candle can cause hot wax splatter and create that smoky smell no one asked for (which is also not great for your home’s air quality - yikes!). Instead, use a candle snuffer or gently dip the wick into the wax with a wick dipper (or even a clean toothpick). No fancy tools? No stress! Just place a finger in front of the wick and blow. This will cause the wick to blow out from the sides, avoiding splatters. Proper blowouts keep your candle smelling fresh and oh-so ready for the next burn.
💎 Clean Her Up, Keep Her Classy
Soot and wax buildup on the glass? Not the vibe. Wipe down your candle jar with a damp cloth or paper towel after each use to keep it looking chic.
🚨 Know When to Say Goodbye
Retire your candle gracefully, don’t let her burn out. Burning your candle all the way down might seem like a flex, but it’s actually a safety hazard. When there’s ½ inch of wax left, it’s time to say goodbye. Burning past this point can damage the container and make a big mess—and nobody wants that.
♻️ Repurpose That Empty Jar
When your candle’s all burned out, don’t toss that jar! Clean it out with soapy warm water and reuse it as a chic container for makeup brushes, Q-tips, jewelry, or even a cute little plant. Sustainable AND stylish!
